Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain software that enhances workflows, automates processes, and integrates applications throughout the VFX production pipeline.

• Design solutions that are scalable and maintainable, employing suitable design patterns and robust engineering principles.

• Produce clear, thoroughly tested code and engage in peer code reviews.

• Advocate for uniform coding standards, automated testing, and Test-Driven Development when applicable.

• Collaborate with production, finance, HR, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and pinpoint workflow enhancements.

• Deconstruct technical tasks, estimate effort, identify dependencies and risks, and communicate updates effectively.

• Investigate software and integration challenges, address root causes, and enhance system reliability and performance.

• Mentor and support fellow developers through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

• Contribute to the technical architecture and take charge of development projects.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining intricate software systems.

• Capability to lead technical decisions and independently deliver solutions.

• Strong expertise in Python and C++.

• In-depth understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

• Experience with automated testing, including both unit and integration tests.

• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development methodologies.

• Proficient in Git and collaborative development processes, including conducting code reviews.

• Skill in translating complex requirements into practical, maintainable technical solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and creative teams.

• Experience in mentoring developers and leading technical projects.

• A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience in VFX, animation, or a related production environment is a plus.

• Experience in developing tools and integrations for Payroll, HRIS, and Financial Services is an additional asset.

• Familiarity with Clean Architecture, CQRS, or other architectural frameworks is an additional asset.

• Experience with cloud services that support production pipelines is an additional asset.

• Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools such as Jira or Asana is an additional asset.
