Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Serve as a technical leader within the team and the wider engineering organization.

• Influence architecture and design, enhance engineering quality, and provide mentorship to developers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to convert technical decisions into business value.

• Hold full accountability for the AI platform in production, encompassing architecture, delivery, operations, costs, quality, and on-call support.

• Design, construct, and manage agentic AI systems, which include LLM services, retrieval pipelines, multi-agent orchestration, agent execution runtimes, and human-in-the-loop functionalities.

• Develop and maintain memory infrastructure for agent systems.

• Oversee LLMOps harnesses, pipelines, and infrastructure, including dynamic model selection based on task, cost, and latency.

• Create automated evaluation infrastructure to analyze offline and online metrics and identify drift or regression.

• Assess and integrate third-party LLMOps and evaluation platforms.

• Establish technical controls, telemetry, and guardrails for compliance frameworks such as ISO 42001 and AIUC-1.

• Manage agent definition management APIs and tool registry definitions.

• Lead engineering efforts to build proof-of-concepts.

• Develop architecture, prototypes, and design proposals.

• Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and active collaboration.

• Contribute to product development, CI/CD pipelines, SDLC enhancements, reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response.

• Diagnose persistent production issues and drive root-cause analysis.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

• Represent the team in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

• Mentor developers on design, agentic-AI sessions, prompts, agent inputs, and responsible AI-assisted development.

• Assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and cloud capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in building and operating production AI systems.

• Familiarity with agent frameworks, agent memory systems, or orchestration of tool-using AI systems.

• Experience with production AWS, including Infrastructure as Code using CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 8 years of professional software development experience demonstrating impact beyond a single team.

• Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native, SaaS/multi-tenant platforms at scale, preferably on AWS.

• Strong understanding of software fundamentals, including OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

• Knowledge of agentic-AI software development practices.

• Experience in designing and utilizing HTTP APIs such as REST or GraphQL.

• Proven track record of mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions across teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong initiative to enhance processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality.

• Familiarity with AWS services, including EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and VPC.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Bash, or TypeScript.

• Experience with reliability and observability tools like New Relic, CloudWatch, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.

• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, or Slack.
