Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Serve as a technical leader within the team and the wider engineering organization.

• Influence architecture and design while enhancing engineering quality.

• Mentor developers and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Maintain full accountability for the AI platform in production, covering aspects such as architecture, delivery, operations, costs, quality, and on-call responsibilities.

• Design, construct, and manage agentic AI systems, which encompass LLM services, retrieval pipelines, multi-agent orchestration, execution runtimes, and human-in-the-loop functionalities.

• Develop and manage memory infrastructure for agent systems.

• Oversee LLMOps harnesses, pipelines, and infrastructure, including dynamic model selection.

• Create automated evaluation infrastructure for offline and online metrics, drift detection, and regression alerting.

• Assess and integrate third-party LLMOps and evaluation platforms.

• Establish technical controls, telemetry, and guardrails for compliance frameworks.

• Manage agent definition APIs and tool registry definitions.

• Lead engineering proof-of-concept developments.

• Generate architecture, prototypes, and design proposals.

• Shape technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, and design discussions.

• Contribute to product development, CI/CD pipelines, SDLC enhancements, reliability, observability, monitoring, incident response, and technical documentation.

• Represent the team in technical discussions with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Investigate emerging technologies, frameworks, and cloud capabilities.

• Utilize and advocate for AI-assisted development tools while fostering safe team practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in building and operating production AI systems.

• Familiarity with agent frameworks, agent memory systems, or orchestration of tool-using AI systems.

• Production experience with AWS, including Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform).

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of professional software development experience demonstrating impact beyond a single team.

• Experience in designing and managing distributed, cloud-native, SaaS/multi-tenant platforms at scale.

• Strong software fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and advocacy for code quality.

• Experience in agentic-AI software development methodologies.

• Proficient in designing and utilizing HTTP APIs (REST, GraphQL, or similar).

• Background in mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions across teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A proactive approach to improving processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with AI guardrails, governance controls, safety mechanisms, ISO 42001, AIUC-1, NIST AI RMF, third-party ML/LLMOps platforms, RAG, embedding pipelines, hybrid search, LLMOps, regulated domains, and accounting/auditing/financial workflows.

• Knowledge of tools such as New Relic, CloudWatch, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, AWS, EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, VPC, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Bash, TypeScript, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.
