Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Serve as a technical leader within the team and the wider engineering organization.

• Develop architecture, prototypes, and design proposals that align with the product and platform vision.

• Shape technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and collaborative efforts.

• Collaborate with senior developers, architects, and tech leads to establish the product/platform architecture roadmap.

• Decompose large initiatives into parallelizable tasks to deliver incremental business value.

• Advocate for proposals from design through to production implementation.

• Enhance the core product build, CI/CD pipelines, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Diagnose production issues and promote reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response.

• Maintain technical documentation and produce new artifacts.

• Lead design discussions and act as the team's representative with technical and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Mentor developers and elevate engineering maturity, including the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.

• Assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and cloud capabilities.

• Construct and manage the AWS AgentCore Gateway layer and hosted functionalities.

• Develop the target registry and configuration model for customer-registered MCP servers, incorporating tenant isolation, credential management, allowlisting, and egress control.

• Create inbound MCP and adjacent-protocol interfaces with authentication, scope enforcement, and rate limiting.

• Establish and manage on-premise connectivity, including session lifecycle, request correlation, and recovery mechanisms.

• Implement session and scope propagation across agent, gateway, target, and backend systems.

• Design and refine OpenAPI contracts and target runtime environments.

• Execute outbound authorization utilizing IAM/SigV4, OAuth, and credential providers.

• Oversee versioning of target contracts.

• Contribute to end-to-end tracing, service level objectives (SLOs), and gateway observability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of professional software development experience, demonstrating impact beyond a single team.

• Proven experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native, SaaS/multi-tenant platforms at scale, preferably on AWS.

• Strong understanding of software fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and code quality advocacy.

• Experience with agentic-AI software development methodologies.

• Proficient in designing and consuming HTTP APIs (REST, GraphQL, or similar).

• Experience mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions across teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• English proficiency at high B2 level.

• Strong initiative to enhance processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality.

• Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) for LLM agents.

• Experience building or managing a multi-tenant gateway or API platform.

• Proven track record of integrating with third-party or untrusted endpoints.

• Knowledge of authorization and scope propagation across multi-hop service boundaries.

• Experience designing and operating persistent-connection or streaming architectures.

• Proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript, AWS Lambda, AWS Bedrock, AWS AgentCore Gateway or similar technologies, OpenAPI, MCP, A2UI, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
