Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain dependable, secure, high-performing, and efficient web and desktop applications along with high-throughput services.

• Collaborate with product managers, product owners, software architects, and other stakeholders to translate high-level requirements into incremental product improvements.

• Act as a vital member of the scrum team, contributing to the codebase and the overall success of the team.

• Engage in software design and architecture by applying software design patterns throughout the development lifecycle.

• Enhance processes and deliverables to boost team effectiveness and efficiency.

• Investigate and prototype innovative concepts, technologies, and methodologies.

• Accurately and thoroughly document and present ideas and solutions.

• Leverage LLMs and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot, and Cursor to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality.

• Take part in on-call rotations to support production systems.

• Oversee the complete product lifecycle from coding and evolution to deployment, monitoring, and production support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 5 years of practical software development experience in application and cloud services development.

• Proficient in creating software projects utilizing Typescript, C#, and/or Python.

• Strong understanding of web or desktop application architecture, encompassing data, application, and web tiers, and their behavior in production environments.

• Experience in developing secure APIs, Microservices, and Desktop applications.

• Familiarity with relational database technologies, such as Postgres, including schema design, query performance, and operational considerations.

• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response practices.

• Proven ability to utilize AI-assisted tools and techniques as a productivity enhancer for software development, debugging, testing, and resolving operational issues.

• Practical experience with unit and automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, etc.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences, including SW Developers and Managers.

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AWS services and technologies (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS).

• Preferred: Experience in building or working with CAD applications such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, or other CAD + AEC design software.

• Preferred: Experience in applying AI or automation to enhance testing, operational efficiency, and developer productivity.

• Preferred: Exposure to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
