Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and develop backend services utilizing .NET 9 and C#, while also implementing frontend functionality with Vue.js or comparable JavaScript frameworks.

• Assume technical ownership of key components within larger projects, overseeing the entire process from design to development, testing, and delivery.

• Decompose tasks to ensure they can be effectively communicated among a small group of developers.

• Create secure and dependable software for clients in sectors where security and reliability are paramount.

• Employ domain-driven design and microservices concepts to address product-related challenges.

• Design and enhance relational databases, including Microsoft SQL.

• Develop and maintain REST APIs, asynchronous messaging protocols, and distributed systems.

• Detect technical obstacles early and collaborate with the team to devise practical solutions.

• Conduct code reviews and uphold standards regarding quality, security, performance, and maintainability.

• Integrate AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude into daily workflows.

• Contribute to the AI capabilities embedded within Vocantas products.

• Assess models and methodologies based on performance metrics, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and the specific problems being addressed.

• Work in conjunction with Product, QA, and other developers to transform requirements into functional software.

• Mentor junior developers by sharing knowledge, reviewing their work, and assisting them in navigating technical challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, emphasizing strong backend capabilities.

• Extensive hands-on experience with .NET and C#, including recent exposure to modern .NET.

• Proficiency in Vue.js and TypeScript; familiarity with Angular or another modern JavaScript framework is also relevant.

• Practical experience with domain-driven design and microservices architecture.

• Experience in working with Microsoft SQL or a similar relational database.

• Proven experience in building and integrating REST APIs.

• Ability to navigate across the technology stack as required.

• Regular utilization of AI-assisted development tools within your workflow.

• Strong communication abilities, including the capacity to identify blockers early, pose questions when requirements are vague, and collaborate openly with team members.

• Capability to take ownership of tasks while effectively contributing to a small development team.

• Preferred experience in creating AI-driven features within software products, including familiarity with models or AI pipelines.

• Background in using message brokers, asynchronous systems, or high-traffic distributed applications is strongly preferred.

• Experience with secure software development in healthcare, manufacturing, or other sectors with stringent security needs is strongly preferred.
