Senior Software and Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical guardian for Axona's comprehensive pharmacy fulfillment ecosystem.

• Ensure seamless operation of all platform components as a cohesive solution.

• Establish service boundaries, integration patterns, API contracts, deployment strategies, and priorities for modernization.

• Validate architectural choices through coding, prototyping, and practical implementation.

• Maintain a balance between strategic architecture and hands-on development.

• Report directly to the Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture.

• Provide support for pharmacy automation systems, including counting, packaging, and robotic dispensing systems and their software.

• Willingness to travel 30%–40% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required; a master's degree is an advantage.

• Over 14 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 6 years in an architectural or comparable technical leadership position.

• Proven ownership of a production platform that encompasses both backend services and frontend/UI elements.

• Extensive expertise in .NET/C#.

• Advanced understanding of .NET and C#.

• Experience in modern asynchronous programming.

• Background in microservices or modular architecture design.

• Experience with production-scale architecture.

• Familiarity with React.js and React Native.

• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.

• Ownership of front-end architecture and standards.

• In-depth knowledge of the React lifecycle and rendering processes.

• Experience with Kafka or equivalent event streaming technologies.

• Familiarity with MassTransit and workflow orchestration.

• Knowledge of gRPC and MQTT.

• Understanding of sagas and state machines.

• Insight into ordering, delivery guarantees, and backpressure concepts.

• Experience with IoT and connected device platforms.

• Familiarity with device identity and provisioning processes.

• Experience in fleet management.

• Background with telemetry pipelines.

• Experience with offline and intermittent connectivity issues.

• Knowledge of device twins and shadow state.

• Experience with over-the-air updates and configuration management.
