This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the architecture, design, development, and enhancement of data solutions based on Snowflake for clients in higher education.
• Facilitate client discovery and design workshops.
• Evaluate existing Snowflake environments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Create future-state data models and architectural frameworks.
• Directly construct and refine Snowflake solutions.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders, business users, data and analytics teams, application owners, and technical personnel.
• Convert institutional needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Maintain a hands-on approach throughout the implementation process.
• Extensive hands-on experience in designing, developing, and supporting Snowflake solutions.
• Capability to function as both a Snowflake Architect and Developer.
• Proven experience in designing scalable Snowflake environments, including databases, schemas, virtual warehouses, security models, workload management, and data-sharing practices.
• Advanced SQL development expertise, including complex queries, views, stored procedures, functions, and data transformation logic.
• Significant experience in designing logical, physical, dimensional, and analytical data models.
• Ability to design future-state enterprise data models and architectures.
• Experience in developing ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating data from various sources such as enterprise applications, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and file-based systems.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities for Snowflake performance, query, data-load, security, integration, and configuration challenges.
• Familiarity with Snowflake performance and cost optimization techniques.
• Understanding of Snowflake security features, including RBAC, masking policies, row-level security, secure views, and data sharing.
• Experience in implementing data-quality controls, reconciliation processes, validation routines, exception handling, and monitoring.
• Proven track record of leading client-facing discovery, requirements gathering, architecture, and technical design workshops.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures, data models, source-to-target mappings, and development specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Prior experience in delivering data, analytics, data warehouse, or cloud data platform solutions within the higher education sector.
• Capability to independently lead technical workstreams and collaborate effectively with client and consulting delivery teams.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in data engineering, data architecture, data warehousing, analytics, or related data technology positions.
• More than 4 years of hands-on experience in Snowflake architecture and development.
• Relevant certifications: SnowPro Advanced: Architect, SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer, SnowPro Core.
• Proven ability to establish trusted advisor relationships with clients.
• Experience in supporting sales and business development initiatives.
• Willingness to travel periodically based on business and client requirements.
