This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design and create cloud software that integrates voice, unified communications, contact center, and AI functionalities.

• Develop and sustain APIs and services for call control, media, presence, messaging, routing, conferencing, and UC interoperability.

• Incorporate AI features such as transcription, summarization, conversational intelligence, virtual agents, and AI-assisted workflows into voice and UC experiences.

• Establish dependable integrations with telephony, UC, contact center, and external communications platforms.

• Diagnose complex real-time communications issues across application, signaling, media, network, and AI service layers.

• Enhance scalability, resiliency, security, observability, and performance of real-time communications services.

• Develop cloud applications and services, tackle intricate technical challenges, and contribute to the evolution of customer-facing products.

• Report directly to Paul Hillyard.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable practical background.

• 4-7 years of professional experience in software development, focusing on building production applications and services.

• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET, along with experience in both front-end and back-end development.

• Familiarity with designing and utilizing REST APIs, distributed services, and relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.

• Knowledge of modern web technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React or Angular.

• Solid understanding of software design patterns, testing methodologies, code review processes, security, and sustainable software engineering practices.

• Experience working in Agile development settings and with CI/CD and DevOps methodologies.

• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong development experience in voice/telephony or unified communications, including SIP, RTP, WebRTC, call control, and media concepts.

• Experience integrating UC, PBX, contact center, carrier, or communication APIs and platforms.

• Background in integrating AI/LLM, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, or conversational intelligence functionalities.

• Understanding of real-time distributed systems, networking principles, latency, high availability, and production troubleshooting.

• Bonus skills: Familiarity with Azure and/or Amazon Web Services; knowledge of Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar caching and messaging technologies; experience with containers and Kubernetes; expertise in observability, telemetry, and production troubleshooting; and experience with contact center, unified communications, or cloud communications platforms.
