This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a seasoned individual contributor within a collaborative team environment.
• Assist the team in achieving scope, schedule, and delivery objectives with minimal supervision.
• Contribute to the long-term objectives of the program and the development of its research strategy.
• Serve as the primary lead for the discipline while engaging with stakeholders.
• Foster relationships with team members, government representatives, company stakeholders, and program management.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives.
• Navigate unclear requirements and environments to ensure successful outcomes.
• Plan, execute, analyze, and disseminate research findings.
• Prioritize research projects based on team requirements, strategic goals, and research capacity.
• Organize and facilitate collaboration among researchers, product team members, and stakeholders.
• Influence and articulate the research strategy for the program.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to researchers.
• Engage in evaluating candidate homework assignments and participating in panel interviews.
• Identify potential risks, communicate them to leadership, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the research scope and the development of actionable recommendations.
• Present research outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the planning, execution, and synthesis of research initiatives.
• Uphold and interpret the VA.gov information architecture and design component standards.
• Assist product teams in applying IA standards and determine when to involve the Content & Information Architecture team.
• Review information architecture structures, navigation components, and content hierarchy.
• Identify and document structural issues along with their severity levels.
• Participate in governance checkpoints and provide an IA perspective on product readiness.
• Bring attention to systemic IA issues and contribute to the continuous feedback loop for standards.
• Engage in governance initiatives, research on the effectiveness of the Collaboration Cycle, process improvements in sprint-based environments, and updates to documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Relevant years of experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Previous experience in mentoring junior-level team members.
• Extensive knowledge of research principles, methodologies, and applicable technologies.
• Strong comprehension of related disciplines and the impact of research on product, program, and business objectives.
