This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Foster robust relationships with team members, governmental and corporate stakeholders, as well as program management.
• Lead collaborative efforts across different functions with team members and leaders.
• Navigate through unclear requirements and environments to ensure successful project delivery.
• Plan, execute, analyze, and disseminate research based on the inquiries, needs, and objectives of the team.
• Prioritize research initiatives according to team requirements, goals, and research capabilities.
• Organize and facilitate collaboration among researchers, product team members, and stakeholders.
• Influence and articulate the research strategy for the program.
• Mentor and coach researchers, offering constructive feedback that promotes growth within the research field.
• Engage in evaluating candidate homework tasks and conducting panel interviews.
• Identify risks, communicate them to leadership, and propose strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Manage the research scope and the development of recommendations, effectively communicating results to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the planning, execution, and synthesis of research efforts.
• Uphold and interpret VA.gov information architecture and design component standards.
• Assist product teams in applying IA standards and determine appropriate moments to engage the Content & Information Architecture team.
• Evaluate IA structures, navigation elements, and content hierarchy for clarity, predictability, usability, and adherence to documented decisions.
• Identify and document structural challenges and their severity.
• Participate in governance checkpoints and assess product readiness and structural consistency.
• Highlight systemic IA issues and contribute to governance initiatives, research, process enhancements, documentation, and guidance materials.
• Bachelor’s degree with over 7 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience can be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Previous experience in mentoring junior-level team members.
• Extensive familiarity with research principles, methodologies, and pertinent technologies.
• Strong comprehension of adjacent disciplines and the impact of research work on product, program, and business objectives.
