This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the merchandising for SwimOutlet.com throughout the customer journey, encompassing homepage merchandising, navigation and taxonomy, category and collection pages, product sorting and ranking, search merchandising, filters and facets, product discovery, cross-selling, seasonal shops, event-driven merchandising, sport and activity-focused shopping experiences, new product launches, brand shops, promotional merchandising, and educational and inspirational shopping content.
• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of customer personas and ensure the site experience aligns with the shopping behaviors and mindsets of each group.
• Utilize AI extensively to assess customer behavior and merchandising data, recognize patterns and gaps, generate and evaluate hypotheses, enhance product discovery and recommendations, uncover cross-sell opportunities, automate repetitive tasks, and establish workflows.
• Collaborate with Buying and Planning to translate assortment strategies into the customer experience, comprehend inventory and availability, identify gaps in assortment, highlight priority inventory, provide feedback on customer searches and behaviors, and support seasonal and category strategies.
• Recognize and eliminate friction points in the shopping journey.
• Examine conversion rates, revenue per visitor, search behaviors, instances of zero-result searches, category performance, click-through rates, product discovery metrics, filter usage, navigation behavior, exit rates, add-to-cart behavior, inventory availability, sell-through rates, new product adoption, customer feedback, reviews, inquiries, and testing outcomes.
• Develop merchandising strategies tailored to swimming seasons and commercial cycles.
• Partner with Marketing, Creative, Product, UX, and Engineering teams on search, recommendations, personalization, navigation, filters, product ranking, segmentation, AI-driven discovery, guided shopping, bundles, experimentation, and automation.
• Advocate for the merchandising and customer perspective in product and technology design.
• Enhance product launches, seasonal merchandising, conversion rates, revenue per visitor, inventory utilization, customer relevance, and AI-enhanced merchandising workflows.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, site merchandising, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience merchandising a large multi-brand assortment.
• Strong grasp of e-commerce customer journeys.
• Familiarity with category merchandising, search, navigation, filters, sorting, and product discovery.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Experience leveraging customer behavior and conversion data to inform merchandising decisions.
• Background in collaborating with Buyers or Merchants.
• Experience working collaboratively with Product and UX teams.
• Knowledge of experimentation and A/B testing methodologies.
• Strong commercial instincts.
• Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining a holistic view of the customer journey.
• Extensive hands-on experience using modern AI tools in professional workflows.
• Familiarity with using AI for research, analysis, automation, creation, or enhancement of business processes.
• Comfort in experimenting with new AI tools and independently determining their applications without extensive guidance.
• Experience in sporting goods, specialty retail, apparel, footwear, outdoor activities, fitness, or similar enthusiast-driven categories is particularly advantageous.
• Knowledge of swimming is beneficial but not mandatory.
• A genuine eagerness to learn about the swimming customer is essential.
