Senior Site Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Oversee and coordinate field installation activities for Thermo Systems projects.

• Manage daily on-site installation coordination to ensure safe and efficient execution in line with standards and client requirements.

• Promote safe work practices, ensure compliance with site safety plans, and report any unsafe conditions.

• Confirm the quality of installation work, coordinate inspections, and handle the creation and closure of punch lists.

• Monitor installation progress against schedules and short-interval plans; identify risks to milestones and implement corrective actions.

• Organize toolbox talks, trade coordination meetings, and forward-looking planning sessions.

• Keep track of site constraints such as access, permits, shutdown periods, staging areas, and availability of materials.

• Act as the on-site liaison between customer representatives, general contractors, construction management, third-party electrical and mechanical trades, as well as safety and quality representatives.

• Maintain version control of installation drawings and field-change documentation, including RFIs, redlines, and as-builts.

• Collaborate with Engineering to address constructability issues, clarify design intentions, and communicate field conditions.

• Identify changes in scope and aid in the development of change orders by documenting drivers and impacts on labor, materials, and schedules.

• Assist with RFIs, field clarifications, and documentation to support changes.

• Work alongside the Project Manager on readiness for execution, adherence to schedules, risk escalation, and change control.

• Provide weekly or as-needed site updates that cover progress, constraints, safety, quality, open issues, and milestones.

• Oversee material readiness, deliveries, staging, and control of on-site inventory.

• Facilitate work face planning by ensuring crews are equipped with drawings, materials, tools, access, and necessary permits.

• Engage in commissioning-readiness planning to ensure the completion of installations, meet testing prerequisites, and close punch lists.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in electrical installation, industrial controls, automation, construction management, or a related leadership role in trades.

• Knowledge of industrial environments such as manufacturing, process facilities, distribution, or energy sectors.

• Proven experience in coordinating third-party electrical contractors on general contractor-controlled job sites.

• Familiarity with change-management processes and documentation, including RFIs, redlines, as-builts, and T&M tracking.

• Background in leading or coordinating field installations on industrial, controls, electrical, or construction projects.

• Strong understanding of installation practices, job site coordination, and trade management.

• Capability to uphold site safety standards and foster a safety-first culture.

• Excellent communication skills and comfort in engaging with customers, general contractors, and subcontractors.

• Strong documentation skills, including maintaining daily logs, tracking progress, monitoring issues, and controlling drawings.

• Proficient in Teams/SharePoint or similar document management systems.

• Basic skills in scheduling and progress tracking.

• Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site for assigned projects.

• OSHA-10/30, NCCER, or trade licensing certifications are considered advantageous.
