
Senior SEO, GEO Strategist – Ecommerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.
• Design, oversee, and implement strategic organic search initiatives that foster sustainable revenue growth for ecommerce clients.
• Take ownership of the SEO strategy for a designated portfolio of ecommerce clients.
• Create prioritized SEO roadmaps that encompass technical SEO, content creation, authority enhancement, user experience improvements, and conversion optimization.
• Identify high-value opportunities across product, category, collection, editorial, buying guide, and comparison pages.
• Conduct comprehensive SEO audits that cover technical SEO, information architecture, internal linking, crawlability, indexation, structured data, Core Web Vitals, rendering, duplicate content, canonicalization, pagination, faceted navigation, redirects, and site migrations.
• Analyze performance metrics using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, ecommerce platform data, crawling tools, rank tracking software, and various other SEO platforms.
• Investigate fluctuations in rankings, traffic, conversions, revenue, and visibility to pinpoint underlying causes.
• Differentiate SEO performance issues from seasonality, promotions, merchandising efforts, paid advertising, product availability, tracking discrepancies, and market shifts.
• Collaborate effectively with Developers, Content Writers, Designers, Outreach Specialists, and Account Managers.
• Translate technical SEO insights into prioritized development tickets that include requirements and anticipated business impact.
• Ensure the quality of implementation and validate completed recommendations.
• Lead client strategy meetings, performance assessments, and quarterly business reviews.
• Provide data-driven strategic recommendations linked to commercial outcomes.
• Develop and enhance GEO and AEO methodologies, frameworks, deliverables, reporting, and measurement systems.
• Research AI search platforms such as Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot.
• Conduct prompt research on product discovery, comparison, and evaluation through AI platforms.
• Assess client visibility on AI search platforms and identify opportunities related to citations, recommendations, structured data, entity consistency, product feeds, authority signals, reviews, and content extractability.
• Stay updated on SEO, GEO, AI search, ecommerce, and algorithm advancements.
• Contribute strategic analysis to Hustler Marketing's own SEO projects.
• Share industry research with the Head of SEO & GEO and the broader team.
• Offer SEO expertise in support of internal departments.
• Report directly to the Head of SEO & GEO.
• Extensive hands-on experience in leading SEO strategy for ecommerce websites.
• Strong experience with Shopify or Shopify Plus and BigCommerce.
• Advanced knowledge of technical SEO, especially for large ecommerce websites and extensive product catalogs.
• Proficient in using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, Looker Studio, and other SEO analysis tools.
• Comprehensive understanding of keyword research, search intent, information architecture, internal linking, on-page optimization, and ecommerce content strategy.
• Proven ability to link SEO performance to business metrics such as conversions, transactions, average order value, and revenue.
• Experience in diagnosing changes in SEO performance across organic search while considering paid campaigns, promotions, merchandising, seasonality, and tracking issues.
• Strong capability to transform SEO audits into prioritized implementation roadmaps and actionable development requirements.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently prioritize high-impact opportunities rather than producing generic SEO recommendations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with confidence in presenting strategies and performance to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, accountability, responsiveness, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Experience working remotely and collaborating with cross-functional teams is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with GEO, AEO, AI search platforms, or AI-powered discovery tools is highly desirable, though practical curiosity and a willingness to learn are more important than claiming expertise.
• Knowledge of structured data, product feeds, entity optimization, AI visibility measurement, and ecommerce SEO best practices is a strong advantage.
• Experience with SQL, Python, JavaScript, APIs, log-file analysis, or advanced data visualization tools is considered a plus.
• Must be available and responsive during office hours (Mondays to Fridays between 3-6 PM BCN time).
• Must consistently work 30-35 hours per week (approximately 140 hours per month).
• Must have a stable internet connection and a laptop or desktop computer capable of attending virtual meetings.
• Must be open to receiving constructive feedback while also providing thoughtful feedback to colleagues to enhance team performance.
• Full-time commitment required.
• Contractor status will be established after signing a non-disclosure agreement.
• Must sign an exclusivity agreement.
• A 30-day notice period is required after the first two months.
• Fixed-rate monthly salary paid in USD.
• Trial and adaptation period compensated at the full rate.
• Regular performance reviews conducted every 9-12 months, with the initial review occurring after 3-6 months.
• Role and workload will be re-evaluated after 6-12 months.
