Senior Security Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and enhancement of intricate, cross-functional automation solutions.

• Serve as a technical authority on architectural decisions, integration methodologies, and engineering best practices within the ORCA program.

• Design and execute comprehensive automation solutions from end to end.

• Establish integration standards, data flow methodologies, and reusable framework components.

• Create and sustain the data lake architecture for centralized automation telemetry and reporting.

• Guide junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

• Assess emerging technologies and propose platform enhancements to improve capabilities and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field, or a comparable combination of extensive experience and education.

• 5-7+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or automation engineering.

• At least 2 years of experience in a security or infrastructure domain.

• Proven experience in designing and delivering production automation platforms or data pipelines at an enterprise level.

• Demonstrated history of mentoring junior engineers and influencing technical decisions.

• Familiarity with integrating across multiple enterprise systems (ITSM, identity, vulnerability management, threat intelligence).

• Proficient in advanced Python, including library design, asynchronous patterns, packaging, and CI/CD integration.

• Knowledge of REST API architecture, encompassing design, versioning, and authentication methodologies (OAuth 2.0, Managed Identity, API keys).

• Experience with automation orchestration platforms such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.

• Expertise in data pipeline and data lake design, including schema evolution, partitioning, and storage optimization.

• Experience with AI/LLM integration, including agent architectures, tool-calling methodologies, multi-model orchestration, and prompt engineering.

• Proficient in container orchestration using Kubernetes/AKS, covering deployments, Helm charts, troubleshooting, and resource management.

• Experience in Linux administration on RHEL, including systemd, networking, security hardening, and performance tuning.

• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates.

• Proficient in Git workflows, including branching strategies, PR review processes, and CI/CD pipeline design.

• Knowledgeable in SQL, including complex queries, schema design, and performance optimization.

• A Master’s degree in a technical discipline is a plus.

• Relevant certifications are highly valued: CISSP, AZ-305, CKA/CKAD, AZ-400, AWS/Azure Security specialty.

• Expertise in the Azure platform, including Key Vault, Blob Storage, Container Apps/AKS, Managed Identity, and Azure OpenAI.

• Understanding of security domain knowledge, including vulnerability management lifecycle, threat intel feeds, CVSS/EPSS scoring, and SIEM/SOAR.

• Experience with encrypted data handling, including Parquet Modular Encryption, AES-256, and key management.

• Familiarity with graph databases, specifically Neo4j and Cypher.

• Experience in building shared libraries or SDKs utilized by multiple teams.

• Involvement in architecture decisions and technical roadmaps at the program level.

• Experience with enterprise change management and production deployment processes.
