Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review Jira stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria to create detailed test plans and test cases.

• Design test scenarios for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end workflows.

• Identify and automate repetitive and high-value test scenarios.

• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirement discussions, daily stand-ups, and release activities.

• Evaluate, recommend, implement, and manage the test automation framework and associated tools.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, API, and system testing.

• Create reusable automation libraries, testing standards, coding standards, and documentation.

• Execute automated regression, smoke, and functional test suites.

• Conduct manual testing when automation is not feasible or during the development of new features.

• Validate end-to-end business workflows across the claims processing platform.

• Verify fixes and ensure readiness for production prior to releases.

• Identify, document, and track defects in Jira, including reproduction steps and supporting evidence.

• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues and validate resolutions.

• Retest resolved defects and confirm successful implementation.

• Communicate testing status, risks, and quality metrics throughout the development lifecycle.

• Suggest process improvements that enhance testing efficiency and software quality.

• Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA team members throughout the Agile lifecycle.

• Partner with Product and Engineering to implement and refine the test automation strategy.

• Stay updated on emerging automation tools, frameworks, and industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of Quality Assurance experience with a significant emphasis on test automation – Required.

• Intermediate level experience with SQL and database validation – Required.

• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks – Required.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation – Required.

• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks – Required.

• Experience with API testing using Postman – Required.

• Experience working with Jira and Agile/Scrum methodologies – Required.

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and defect lifecycle – Required.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills – Required.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams – Required.

• Experience in implementing a test automation framework from the ground up – Preferred.

• Experience testing healthcare, claims processing, or other enterprise applications – Preferred.

• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools – Preferred.

• Experience mentoring QA team members on automation best practices – Preferred.
