Senior Search & AI Discoverability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and implement GEO/AEO/AIO strategies to enhance content, metadata, and page layout for AI-generated responses.

• Perform regular technical audits and convert findings into defined engineering projects with measurable outcomes.

• Develop business cases for product improvements leveraging audience insights and search/AI discovery knowledge.

• Track and monitor discoverability metrics across traditional search engines and emerging AI platforms.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing teams to prioritize and sequence enhancements.

• Keep abreast of how LLMs retrieve and reference web content, and introduce new methodologies to the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical technical SEO experience, including direct implementation.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and deploying code; familiarity with Go and React is preferred.

• Capability to manage the implementation process from start to finish and deliver improvements in SEO/GEO/AEO/AIO.

• Solid understanding of how AI-driven search and answer engines retrieve, rank, and reference content.

• Expertise in using tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Semrush, and Ahrefs.

• Experience in generating actionable insights through analytics tools, notably Google Analytics.

• Demonstrated cross-cultural competency with an ability to embrace inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors.

• Driven by the mission of Khan Academy.

• Experience in a content-rich or edtech environment, along with international SEO and Generative AI/LLM product experience, is a plus.
