Senior Scientific Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct high-achieving Scientific Services teams while providing scientific, editorial, strategic, operational, and scientific leadership.

• Oversee intricate projects spanning various therapeutic areas.

• Supervise the production of medical communication materials, such as slide decks, digital assets, publications, abstracts, posters, and meeting summaries.

• Build and sustain relationships with clients and medical experts.

• Facilitate scientific discussions, client meetings, workshops, and thought-leadership conversations with healthcare professionals.

• Effectively communicate and delegate briefs, align outputs with client strategic objectives, and uphold editorial standards.

• Collaborate with the Client Services Lead on strategic planning, timelines, account management, and resource allocation.

• Cultivate and maintain expert knowledge of therapeutic areas while keeping abreast of developments in medical communications.

• Provide updates on product, medical/regulatory milestones, competitors, and trends in the healthcare sector.

• Identify and foster new business opportunities, proposals, and pitching strategies.

• Oversee budgets, forecasting, resource management, billability, and timesheet submissions.

• Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and manage the performance of Scientific Services team members.

• Maintain a senior-level relationship with the Business Unit Founder and communicate important account activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced, doctoral-level degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, etc.).

• Several years of experience in the medical communications field.

• Proven experience in leading high-performing teams with strong leadership and influencing capabilities.

• Outstanding scientific writing skills with extensive experience creating content across various therapeutic areas and for diverse target audiences.
