Senior Scala Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Engage in software design, development, refactoring, support, and code review processes.

• Collaborate effectively with platform teams to achieve project objectives.

• Operate independently with minimal supervision.

• Enhance the platform to ensure optimal throughput and scalability.

• Assume responsibility for solutions while continually improving systems and processes.

• Design and maintain GPAS, a distributed, multi-tenant, event-driven gaming platform.

• Implement new features utilizing Scrum methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in developing server-side applications using Scala.

• Strong proficiency in Scala, ideally Scala 3, along with experience in SBT (Scala Build Tool).

• Extensive experience with Pekko/Akka, including knowledge of HTTP, Actors, Cluster, Persistence, Streams, and connectors.

• Comprehensive understanding of the JVM, data structures, and algorithms.

• Excellent grasp of parallel and concurrent programming principles.

• Practical experience in building high-scale, distributed systems with intricate interfaces and integrations.

• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.

• Open to documenting solutions and sharing knowledge with team members.

• Proficient and effective communication skills in English.

• Experience in iGaming, Typesafe Config, Couchbase or document-based NoSQL, AWS S3/DynamoDB, Play JSON, ScalaTest, Docker/Nomad/Kubernetes, and Linux is a plus.
