This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee the SBA loan closing process from approval to funding, booking, and resolving post-closing issues.
• Perform comprehensive reviews of loan files, including Credit Memos and Commitment Letters.
• Raise any clarification questions while maintaining necessary SBA forms and closing checklists.
• Complete Master Checklists and rename documents to ensure readiness for closing and compliance audits.
• Review and obtain due diligence reports, including SAM, OFAC, CAIVRS, and Flood reports.
• Process SBA approvals using ETRAN and pay SBA guaranty fees as needed.
• Update nCino with precise dates, borrower information, and loan details.
• Follow up with BDOs and Underwriters to acquire change memos and ensure system accuracy.
• Update Chatter with conditions status, changes in loan terms, booking updates, and post-closing tracking notes.
• Collaborate with attorneys and coordinate with borrowers, third parties, and internal teams.
• Assist in clearing pre-closing conditions and verify equity injections.
• Finalize Sources and Uses and engage construction oversight companies when necessary.
• Coordinate DDA setup and communicate closing statuses and missing documents.
• Schedule closing dates and review draft closing documents.
• Prepare internal closing documents and compile complete closing packages.
• Create and circulate funding sheets for internal approval.
• Review executed closing documents, process funding, and ensure proper disbursement.
• Book SBA loans and resolve booking exceptions with Loan Servicing.
• Address QC audit and post-closing exceptions.
• Track original executed closing documents and confirm their receipt.
• Facilitate post-closing introductions of borrowers to internal relationship partners.
• Capability to interpret and apply SBA SOPs, bank policies, and internal procedures.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple loans and deadlines concurrently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, legal counsel, third parties, and borrowers.
• Proven track record of identifying discrepancies, raising clarification questions, and proactively resolving issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant banking or lending experience.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial loan closing, SBA loan processing, loan operations, or a related banking function.
• Demonstrated experience with SBA 7(a) and/or SBA 504 loan programs.
• Familiarity with SBA forms, ETRAN processing, guaranty fees, and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of loan documentation, credit approvals, commitment letters, and closing conditions.
• Experience in reviewing loan files for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in loan origination and servicing systems, such as nCino or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of due diligence requirements, including OFAC, SAM, CAIVRS, Flood, and other third-party reports.
