Senior SAP Technical Lead, possible travel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Provide technical guidance across SAP implementation, upgrades, migrations, and support projects

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional consultants, architects, and development teams to design, develop, and implement scalable SAP solutions

• Act as the primary technical authority for SAP development tasks, integrations, custom enhancements, data migrations, and technical architecture

• Lead both onsite and offshore teams while ensuring adherence to SAP best practices, quality standards, and project delivery commitments

• Direct the technical design, architecture, and development of SAP solutions

• Establish technical standards, development frameworks, and best practices

• Convert functional requirements into technical solution designs

• Ensure the scalability, maintainability, security, and performance of SAP applications

• Mentor developers, technical consultants, and project teams

• Oversee SAP S/4HANA, ECC, Fiori, BTP, ABAP, and related development initiatives

• Design and supervise custom developments, enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms, workflows, and conversions

• Manage SAP and non-SAP integrations utilizing APIs, middleware, IDocs, OData, web services, and cloud integration technologies

• Execute code reviews and resolve complex technical challenges

• Support transformation efforts from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA

• Lead custom code remediation, integration redesign, and technical readiness assessments

• Collaborate on data extraction, conversion, validation, and reconciliation processes

• Engage in cutover planning, mock conversions, dress rehearsals, and go-live activities

• Steer technical project workstreams from initiation to deployment and support

• Develop technical estimates, project plans, and resource requirements

• Track progress, risks, issues, and dependencies

• Provide technical status reports to project leadership and stakeholders

• Mentor SAP technical consultants and developers

• Facilitate knowledge transfer, training, and skill development

• Coordinate onsite, offshore, and vendor teams

• Offer technical leadership for production support and AMS engagements

• Conduct root cause analysis and drive issue resolution

• Identify opportunities for system optimization, automation, and process improvement

• Assist in performance tuning and system stability initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline

• 8–12+ years of SAP technical experience

• 3–6+ years of experience leading SAP technical teams or workstreams

• Demonstrated experience in delivering SAP implementation, migration, or transformation projects

• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities

• Experience in global delivery environments involving onsite and offshore teams

• Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA

• Proficiency in SAP ECC

• Skilled in ABAP/OO ABAP

• Familiarity with Fiori/UI5

• Knowledge of SAP Gateway

• Experience with CDS Views

• Familiarity with AMDP

• Experience in OData Services

• Knowledge of Workflow

• Experience with Enhancement Framework

• Familiarity with BAdIs

• Experience with User Exits

• Skilled in SmartForms

• Knowledge of Adobe Forms
