Senior Risk and Controls Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, implementation, and integration of risk and control mechanisms for the organization.

• Independently monitor and evaluate the effective management of risks and controls.

• Support the design, execution, and continuous delivery of the risk framework and associated processes.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory and policy standards.

• Offer guidance on risk and control matters.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance and conduct policies related to products and services.

• Work alongside Product, Operations, Technology, and other functional teams to develop and implement compliant solutions and new offerings.

• Ensure that customer and conduct outcomes are achieved through processes and controls for POS Lending, Unsecured Personal Loans, or Savings products.

• Assist in the enhancement of risk-based controls frameworks, processes, and key risk indicators.

• Manage regulatory risks and spearhead change or remediation initiatives.

• Aid in the resolution of unexpected events and incidents that may expose the organization to unforeseen risks.

• Engage with broader NatWest stakeholders and senior risk colleagues on priorities, policies, and processes driven by risk considerations.

• Develop and implement Risk Management Information (MI), maintain an up-to-date Risks, Actions, Issues, and Decisions (RAID) log, and appropriately escalate issues.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in a compliance, conduct, or risk management role, or similar relevant experience.

• Understanding of the regulatory landscape and its associated frameworks.

• Preferably experienced in interpreting regulatory rules and regulations such as BCOBs, Consumer Credit Act, and Consumer Duty.

• Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Proven experience collaborating with product and functional business teams to deliver new capabilities.

• Demonstrated ability to solve problems alongside product and functional teams to create innovative compliant solutions.

• Proficient in conveying complex information and concepts clearly to stakeholders.

• Capability to integrate product policies, processes, and controls while balancing regulatory compliance with commercial viability.

• Confidence to influence and challenge senior risk stakeholders effectively.

• Experience in a customer experience or customer design-focused environment.

• Evidence of contributing to the development of Lending and/or Savings products.

• External knowledge of regulations applicable to Lending and/or Savings products.
