This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, journal entries, and intricate accounting calculations in accordance with GAAP.
• Review monthly journal entries and interfaces to ensure accurate recording of financial statement activities.
• Evaluate accounting procedures and suggest enhancements to improve efficiency and precision.
• Compile data for annual reports, 990 tax returns, and schedules requested by auditors.
• Analyze actual performance against budgeted figures, financial data, and budget variances.
• Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory filings, including DMHC and CMS submissions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Generate and communicate precise monthly financial results along with written financial analyses.
• Maintain supporting schedules and related documentation.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and promptly address reconciling items.
• Assist with the development of policies, procedures, monthly closing cycles, reporting criteria, and streamlined accounting processes.
• Resolve accounting and reporting challenges while providing education and support to staff.
• Offer training and guidance to junior accounting personnel.
• Engage in organizational projects and execute other assigned responsibilities.
• Comply with safety protocols, P4P standards, HIPAA, and compliance policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience in a computerized accounting environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and systems necessary for maintaining general ledgers and journals, as well as preparing financial statements and reports.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications, preferably within a Windows environment.
• Analytical skills adept for complex and detailed analyses of accounting issues and systems.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to complete assignments within set timeframes while maintaining workflow.
• Capability to explain complex accounting and financial concepts to non-financial individuals in a courteous manner.
• Ability to collaborate with others in a flexible and cooperative approach.
