Senior Resources Geologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Provide support to the U.S. West Region and AECOM’s mining consulting team.

• Deliver mineral exploration and resource estimation services throughout the mining lifecycle, from discovery to closure.

• Construct, analyze, and interpret exploration data utilizing database programs and geostatistical techniques.

• Develop exploration and resource models for project due diligence and mineral resource reporting.

• Publicly disclose exploration targets and/or mineral resource estimates as a Qualified Person or Competent Person in accordance with NI 43-101, S-K 1300, and JORC Code regulations.

• Assist with desktop planning, supervision, and assessment of mineral exploration programs.

• Mentor junior resource geologists.

• Support exploration and mining project proposals for both new and existing clients.

• Engage in multidisciplinary team projects.

• Travel to remote locations for short durations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline, accompanied by 10 years of pertinent experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• A valid Registered Professional Geologist (PG) license.

• Excellent technical writing and communication abilities.

• Experience authoring all or part of a Technical Report as a Qualified Person or Competent Person.

• A solid background in mineral exploration, mine geology, geologic modeling, and resource estimation.

• In-depth knowledge of relevant QA/QC and geostatistical methods.

• Advanced proficiency with geologic modeling software, preferably Leapfrog and MinePlan.

• Willingness to work and travel up to 15% to remote project sites.

• Familiarity with field-level exploration and mining project risks.

• Attendance at an in-person Day 1 onboarding session at an AECOM office is mandatory.
