Senior Research Associate – Qualitative Research Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct and document interviews and focus groups with relevant participants in the education sectors being served.

• Provide transcripts and recordings of interviews and focus groups via Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

• Identify actionable insights and independently synthesize these into clear, concise reports.

• Design protocols for interviews and focus groups independently, as needed.

• Redact and disseminate reports, as necessary.

• Conduct one-on-one interviews for in-depth research studies.

• Facilitate virtual focus groups for higher education clients.

• Analyze findings from each study and integrate results into reports.

• Deliver actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.

• Collaborate with the internal Higher Education Qualitative Research team on a project-by-project basis.


⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive experience executing in-depth interview studies, from crafting interview guides to synthesizing insights and producing decision-ready reports.

• Capability to conduct 30-minute qualitative interviews over the phone.

• Proficiency in conducting 60-minute or 90-minute focus groups via Zoom.

• Ability to upload transcripts and recordings from Teams or Zoom.

• High level of comfort with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with generative AI tools is an advantage.

• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.

• Willingness to address complex, often unfamiliar research requests.

• Experience engaging professionally via phone or videoconferencing software.

• High comfort level when speaking with industry experts and C-level executives over the phone.

• Background in conducting telephone interviews or telephone sales.

• Capacity to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to work under pressure and juggle tasks in a dynamic environment.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Experience in writing and researching for a business or professional audience.

• Excellent command of the English language.

• Openness to feedback and constructive criticism.

• Demonstrable problem-solving abilities.

• Strong work ethic and demonstrable commitment to quality.

• 2–4 years of experience in business or academia conducting qualitative research.

• A Master’s degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or another social science is preferred.

• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of applied market research experience is also preferred.

• Must be based in the USA.
