Research Associate – Data Curation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive research, curation, and analysis of scientific data from literature related to drug discovery and patents.

• Assess and curate information derived from scientific articles and patents.

• Analyze chemical structures and biological data to extract significant insights.

• Ensure thoroughness and precision in data curation, analysis, and database development.

• Assist in data research and curation across various projects.

• Stay updated on the biopharmaceutical sector and the R&D process ranging from target identification to commercialization.

• Foster a positive environment within the Scientific and Data teams that aligns with the company’s mission and values.

• Undertake additional related tasks as required to support Drug Hunter’s Scientific and Data teams and their functions.

• Report directly to a Scientific Director.


⛳️ Requirements

• Eligible to work in the employee’s location; Drug Hunter is unable to provide US visa/Green Card sponsorship or related support based on the employee’s location.

• Proven experience in data curation, with knowledge of patent procedures and databases.

• Capability to interpret chemical structures and biological data.

• Knowledge of ChemDraw or comparable chemical drawing tools.

• Proficient in using spreadsheet applications such as Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice Calc.

• Familiarity with scientific databases and cheminformatics resources like PubChem, PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, ChEMBL, and SureChEMBL.

• Basic understanding of regulatory agencies and their associated databases, such as the FDA.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proficient in English.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative start-up environment across various disciplines.

• Digitally savvy with social media, software, new technologies, and platforms.

• Ability to swiftly learn new areas of expertise and adapt in a growth-oriented environment.

• Basic knowledge of Python for data processing and automation is preferred.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or chemical biology.

• 0–3 years of experience focused on data curation.

• Experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
