This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Conduct intricate net revenue analyses and reimbursement tasks for designated hospitals and payers.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, annual budget formulation, contractual and third-party reserve evaluations, journal-entry preparation, and net revenue reconciliation.
• Deliver advanced analytical and technical support for departmental net revenue reimbursement initiatives.
• Act as a senior technical resource and subject matter expert for reimbursement analysts, specialty groups, committees, stakeholders, and the Revenue Cycle Analytics application.
• Collaborate with reimbursement, accounting, revenue cycle, operational stakeholders, and site accountants to investigate and resolve reimbursement challenges.
• Develop annual net revenue reimbursement budget models and clarify major assumptions or discrepancies.
• Utilize reimbursement expertise encompassing IME, GME, DSH, RHC, bad debt, medical education, and supplemental payment programs.
• Evaluate monthly contractual reserve projections and prepare relevant journal entries.
• Offer peer training, technical guidance, and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Lead or provide expertise to process improvement initiatives, system implementations, committee engagements, and cross-functional projects.
• Reconcile daily Epic accounts receivable, transaction, and charge files, addressing any system data discrepancies.
• Review and update application settings for reserve calculations.
• Execute complex variance, trend, and root-cause analyses and present findings to reimbursement and finance leadership.
• Develop and enhance analytical models, reconciliations, procedures, and internal controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
• Four (4) years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Advanced analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and analysis of extensive datasets.
• Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement, net revenue methodologies, contractual allowances, third-party reserves, and accounts-receivable valuation.
• Capability to sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods.
• Effective communication skills through verbal, written, and electronic channels.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements related to keyboarding, data entry, and the use of standard office equipment.
• CPA Certification is preferred.
• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in healthcare net revenue calculations, contractual reserve analysis, reimbursement budgeting, or month-end closing activities is preferred.
