This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Review incoming regulatory data and reporting requests to determine the necessary data, reporting periods, populations, calculations, classifications, and submission criteria.
• Convert regulatory reporting needs into detailed, development-ready data and reporting specifications.
• Detect incomplete, vague, or conflicting requirements prior to development.
• Investigate mortgage servicing processes and data to ascertain how regulatory requirements should be represented.
• Collaborate with Regulatory/Risk teams, operational subject matter experts, clients, and report development teams.
• Create comprehensive requirements documentation for SQL report developers, encompassing data elements, business rules, calculations, populations, filters, reporting periods, and expected outputs.
• Ensure traceability from the initial regulatory request through to requirements, reporting logic, and final outputs.
• Conduct thorough quality reviews of regulatory reports and data extracts prior to delivery.
• Validate report outcomes against documented requirements and the corresponding regulatory request.
• Develop and execute reconciliations, reasonableness testing, population validation, exception analysis, and other reporting controls.
• Utilize SQL, Excel, and source data to scrutinize reporting results and confirm assumptions.
• Identify data anomalies, logical discrepancies, unexpected outcomes, and reporting defects.
• Coordinate issue resolution with development teams and business stakeholders.
• Leverage mortgage servicing expertise to analyze loan-level, transaction-level, and servicing activity data.
• Assess relationships among business processes, system activities, data structures, and regulatory reporting results.
• Manage assigned regulatory reporting requests from intake to final delivery.
• Coordinate activities across Regulatory/Risk, servicing operations, clients, development teams, and stakeholders.
• Monitor deadlines, dependencies, inquiries, development status, validation outcomes, and decisions.
• Escalate risks impacting reporting accuracy or delivery timelines.
• Facilitate meetings focused on requirements, status updates, validation, and issue resolution.
• Maintain documentation that supports requirements, decisions, testing, validation, and final reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of regulatory data and reporting requests.
• Experience in mortgage servicing is mandatory.
• Practical understanding of mortgage servicing processes and the data they generate.
• Background in regulatory reporting within the mortgage servicing or mortgage banking sectors.
• Familiarity with mortgage-related loan, transaction, and servicing activity data.
• Experience in interpreting reporting requirements and converting them into comprehensive business and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of relational database concepts, including tables, relationships, keys, joins, and data structures.
• Capability to read and write basic to intermediate SQL queries.
• Experience in data validation, reconciliation, exception analysis, or reporting quality assurance.
• Proficiency in investigating discrepancies across business processes, reporting logic, and underlying source data.
• Strong skills in requirements documentation and written communication.
• Ability to independently manage multiple regulatory requests with defined or competing deadlines.
• Capacity to lead working sessions with Regulatory/Risk teams, operational experts, developers, clients, and leadership.
• Regulatory reporting experience is highly preferred, including knowledge of MCR, MBFRF, NMLS reporting, state licensing and regulatory reporting, investor reporting, regulatory examinations, ad hoc regulatory data requests, or other federal/state mortgage servicing reporting criteria.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server / relational databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
