
Senior Regional Customer Application Engineer – Americas

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main early-stage technical point of contact for designated opportunities throughout the Americas prior to formal proposal submission.
• Direct technical interactions with customers, developers, EPCs, utilities, IPPs, and strategic partners.
• Identify and propose optimal technical solutions and positioning strategies with an emphasis on standard, executable offerings.
• Develop opportunities by clarifying configurations, scope boundaries, customer needs, and technical/commercial risks.
• Assess where customer needs align with standard products and where deviations may pose risks.
• Facilitate discussions on power plant architecture and value trades, encompassing cycle selection, turbine pathways, phased construction, redundancy, efficiency, emissions, footprint, black start, islanding, and grid interface.
• Participate in discussions regarding data center power generation, addressing onsite generation, architectural tradeoffs, scheduling, load growth, resilience, efficiency, and standardization.
• Utilize plant performance and thermodynamic modeling tools to analyze thermal power configurations.
• Perform or oversee configuration optimization and lifecycle/economic value assessments.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Line, Value Solutions Leaders, Application Engineering, and other relevant departments.
• Work in conjunction with related technical teams, including aeroderivative specialists.
• Create technical content for customer presentations, workshops, and strategic discussions.
• Address pre-RFP technical information inquiries regarding permitting, emissions, interconnection, and preliminary design basis.
• Convey opportunity background, configuration, assumptions, risks, expectations, and approvals to proposal and execution teams.
• Collect market intelligence, competitor insights, and customer feedback.
• Relay voice-of-customer and market feedback to engineering, product, and commercial teams.
• Enhance Lean operations by minimizing rework, promoting early clarity, and reinforcing standard work.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Extensive experience in thermal power generation, gas turbine applications, power plant engineering, project development, proposal engineering, commercial operations, or customer application engineering.
• Proven technical and/or commercial experience with heavy-duty gas turbines.
• Proven technical and/or commercial experience with combined cycle or simple cycle plant configurations.
• Proven technical and/or commercial experience with steam turbine/generator/HRSG integration.
• Proven technical and/or commercial experience with thermal plant development and assessment.
• Proven technical and/or commercial experience with data center development, architecture, behind-the-meter power, infrastructure, and economics.
• Experience engaging with customers or commercial teams in technical discussions that influence project direction, equipment selection, or plant architecture.
• Ability to assess technical requirements, customer objectives, and business constraints collectively and translate them into practical solution recommendations.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the Americas, approximately 20% or as business needs dictate.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Extensive technical and commercial experience in the power generation sector.
• Strong knowledge of GE Vernova Gas Power products, plant configurations, and the broader power generation value chain.
• Solid understanding of power plant thermodynamics, plant performance analysis, and technical configuration tradeoffs.
• Experience with economic evaluation, lifecycle cost analysis, and customer value-based technical positioning.
• Capability to lead discussions connecting technical architecture decisions to business outcomes.
• Familiarity with data center power generation opportunity development.
• Strong systems thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Robust understanding of market trends, competitor positioning, and evolving customer needs.
• Ability to work effectively across regional and global teams in a highly matrixed environment.
• Lean mindset focused on clarity, standardization, flow, and minimizing non-value-added work.
