This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and analysis on third-party claims

• Recover overpayments related to workers' compensation, no-fault insurance, hospital liens, and various accident or liability claims

• Assess legal liability and pursue, negotiate, and resolve subrogation, liens, and reimbursement recoveries

• Develop and uphold departmental policies and procedures

• Provide training for new staff and participate in specialized departmental projects

• Implement relevant laws, regulations, and policy language to facilitate recoveries in compliance with mandates

• Negotiate lien settlements with attorneys and other accountable representatives to maximize recovery

• Assist in addressing Summons and Complaints and responding to interrogatories from attorneys when litigation has begun

• Inform involved parties of their legal rights and issue notices of liens

• Review medical charges to determine their relevance

• Keep detailed recovery records and precise case facts

• Maintain technical expertise and knowledge of recovery processes as a resource for the department

• Guide Recovery Specialists through effective and accurate litigation procedures

• Establish and sustain procedures for the subrogation department and current position resources

• Review and fulfill ongoing competency requirements

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate's degree in business, legal, or a healthcare-related field is required

• Alternatively, leadership may consider six years of relevant work experience in lieu of education

• At least three years of experience in coding, insurance processes, liability, subrogation, coordination of benefits, or workers' compensation claim adjudication is necessary

• Preference will be given to candidates with a CSRP (Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional) designation from NASP (National Association of Subrogation Professionals)
