Senior R&D Tools Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create, manage, and provide support for projects within Jira.

• Oversee and facilitate the implementation of new tools in R&D from start to finish.

• Enhance the adoption and utilization of Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and other tools within R&D.

• Contribute as a subject matter expert in discussions regarding processes and tools.

• Evaluate tool implementations for adherence to best practices and suggest enhancements.

• Manage and define Jira and Confluence solutions to meet the evolving needs of R&D and Product.

• Provide support for the suite of R&D tools, including Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and additional R&D applications.

• Collaborate with IT to establish tools for R&D and Product teams.

• Analyze, assess, and document functionality to pinpoint areas for enhancement.

• Partner with the Training team to create user training for R&D tools.

• Maintain Jira projects, workflows, and permissions within a Jira Cloud environment.

• Document and support the structure of Confluence pages, templates, and space permissions.

• Utilize Jira filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, and fields to deliver effective solutions.

• Test new features, functionalities, integrations, and applications within the Atlassian Suite for compatibility.

• Collaborate with R&D and IT teams to support lab environments and various R&D tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Jira Administrator with proficiency in customizing Jira projects using various schemes, complex workflows, custom JQL, and integrating with other business systems, including external reporting systems.

• Experience in architecting a Jira Cloud Instance (Jira Software and Jira Service Management) across multiple teams is advantageous.

• Background in maintaining GitHub Organizations or administrating other source control systems.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, or VMware is a plus.

• Ability to create advanced dashboards using diverse filter types in Jira and Confluence.

• Experience in researching, developing a business case for purchases, and installing Atlassian Apps.

• Understanding of User & Group management via Atlassian Access.

• Experience in maintaining and supporting systems or tools in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Atlassian Certifications are a plus.

• Capability to thrive in a dynamic agile environment.

• Strong work ethic coupled with effective time management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
