Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the testing strategy for designated features and areas.

• Determine how confidence is established and what validation takes place at each testing layer.

• Engage in discovery and specification reviews prior to the commencement of development.

• Clarify assumptions, highlight edge cases, and pinpoint risks and dependencies.

• Develop test cases during feature development that encompass user journeys, happy paths, edge cases, error management, recovery, and regression.

• Empower engineers to take responsibility for their segment of quality by supplying test suites, regression packs, environments, and mock data.

• Implement structured test cases and perform essential exploratory testing.

• Identify usability concerns, cross-feature interactions, and erroneous assumptions.

• Maintain an up-to-date overview of test coverage for each feature.

• Assist in making release decisions grounded in measurable confidence.

• Constantly enhance automation strategies and QA processes.

• Minimize flakiness, address coverage gaps, and decrease repetitive manual regression.

• Leverage AI/LLM tools for test case creation, automation scripting, and exploratory testing.

• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Data while taking full responsibility for the testing strategy from start to finish.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.

• Senior-level experience in Quality Assurance is essential.

• Proven experience in owning quality for actual features or products, along with the ability to make independent testing-strategy decisions.

• A genuine sense of ownership and a proactive attitude are necessary.

• A user- and product-first perspective when it comes to testing journeys and business outcomes.

• A security-focused mindset and comfort with the shift-left approach are important.

• Practical experience with automation tools like WebdriverIO, Patrol, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Playwright is expected.

• Familiarity with writing backend tests, including API, unit, and database tests.

• Experience in testing RESTful services using Postman or similar tools.

• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions is required.

• Strong automation skills are preferred; candidates with predominantly manual experience may be considered if they demonstrate a proactive mindset, solid technical foundation, and eagerness to learn automation swiftly.

• Experience in web3 or fintech, or testing products that involve real money, is a plus.

• Experience testing across various layers, including API, integration, golden/screenshot, performance, and accessibility, is an advantage.

• Experience in security testing is also a plus.
