Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the testing strategy for designated features and product domains.

• Determine how confidence is established across various testing layers, including unit, component, integration, API, golden, E2E, accessibility, performance, security, manual, and exploratory testing.

• Engage in discovery and specification reviews prior to the commencement of development.

• Clarify assumptions and identify edge cases, risks, and dependencies.

• Create test cases during feature development that encompass user journeys, happy paths, edge cases, error handling, recovery, and regression.

• Empower engineers to take responsibility for their segment of quality through test suites, regression packs, environments, and mock data.

• Carry out structured test cases and essential exploratory testing.

• Maintain an up-to-date overview of test coverage for each feature.

• Persistently enhance automation strategies and QA processes.

• Minimize flakiness, bridge coverage gaps, lessen repetitive manual regression, and facilitate exploratory, accessibility, security, and performance testing.

• Leverage AI/LLM tools to expedite test case design, automation scripting, and exploratory testing.

• Collaborate across functions with Product, Engineering, and Data teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Senior-level experience in quality assurance.

• Proven experience in taking ownership of quality for real features or products and making independent testing-strategy decisions.

• A genuine sense of ownership and a proactive mindset.

• A user- and product-centric approach to testing.

• A security-oriented mindset and comfort with shift-left quality practices.

• Practical experience with WebdriverIO, Patrol, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Playwright.

• Background in writing backend tests, including API, unit, and database tests.

• Experience in testing RESTful services using Postman or similar tools.

• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Strong automation skills, or a proactive attitude with a solid technical foundation and eagerness to learn automation swiftly.

• Nice to have: experience in web3, fintech, or products that handle real money.

• Nice to have: experience testing across API, integration, golden/screenshot, performance, and accessibility layers.

• Nice to have: experience with security testing.
