Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Enhance testing processes and automation within an agile framework.

• Guide and mentor the team on optimal testing methodologies.

• Evaluate the code of peers and support junior team members through mentorship.

• Act as the team's reliable expert on QA and automation subjects.

• Offer evidence-based suggestions regarding release preparedness.

• Develop dependable automated tests that match production quality.

• Ensure sufficient functional and non-functional test coverage.

• Set up CI to maximize team advantages while maintaining coverage and confidence.

• Promote quality practices across various teams.

• Collaborate with developers to create scalable systems and troubleshoot using diverse tools.

• Assist with back-office tools for visualizing components of the Delivery Network.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in writing automated tests (e.g., Cypress.io).

• Understanding of common test automation design patterns.

• Experience in developing frameworks designed for CD environments.

• Demonstrated history of integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong practical knowledge of RESTful web services and HTTP protocols.

• Familiarity with API testing; experience with Postman or Pact is advantageous.

• Knowledge or experience with Java 17+ and React.js 18 (preferred).

• Experience with SonarQube, Artillery, and Zephyr Scale/TM4J (preferred).

• Exposure to AWS, GCP, Amazon SNS/SQS, and Apache Kafka (preferred).

• Comfortable testing in a collaborative, agile setting.

• Proficient in working with software engineers, configuring environments, querying databases, automating tests, and developing frameworks.

• Successful completion of a background check is required as a condition of employment.
