Senior Quality Control Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Plan, assure, and continuously enhance the quality of software products created by the company.

• Test and validate functional requirements, usability, and technical communications for the company's offerings.

• Design, develop, and implement formal test plans.

• Automate smoke tests and regression testing processes.

• Provide product-quality data to facilitate informed release decisions.

• Represent the quality viewpoint to technical teams and serve as an internal quality consultant for business and technical partners.

• Develop and utilize use cases to ensure product usability.

• Conduct comprehensive manual testing scenarios based on customer usage patterns.

• Perform negative testing, including boundary-limit, unexpected-input, and invalid-data-type scenarios.

• Generate and manage realistic market data throughout the testing phase.

• Collect customer or internal product data to replicate or accurately test specific product areas.

• Conduct time-boxed exploratory testing based on risks identified in collaboration with product management, development, and support teams.

• Validate user documentation for accuracy and completeness.

• Investigate and document defects found during testing.

• Provide estimates for testing efforts and actuals.

• Develop, execute, and refine software test plans and methodologies.

• Create clear, complete, repeatable, and automation-ready test plans.

• Automate routine regression testing, including smoke tests for new builds.

• Map requirements into functional test plans and ensure traceability from requirements to test cases.

• Engage in design discussions and reviews, contributing the end-user perspective.

• Review technical documentation for consistency, clarity, and completeness.

• Participate in Scrum, quality, technical, and group meetings.

• Become a product expert and offer cross-training to peers and support teams.

• Track assigned tasks and defects, providing completion estimates.

• Estimate required resources for projects and assist in staffing plans and funding requests.

• Research and assess functionality in designated areas.

• Maintain and broaden testing knowledge through training and continuous learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Computer Science, Manufacturing Processes, or Business from an accredited four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in software testing and business process analysis.

• Familiarity with internal testing methods and quality metrics.

• Minimum guidance in Milestone reviews, exception reporting, and management reporting.

• Responsible for full-cycle control testing aspects on significant projects.

• In-depth knowledge of functional product areas.

• Working familiarity with related technologies and project management tools and deliverables utilized in the Technology Division processes.

• Proficient in the use of desktop support tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.

• Working knowledge of scripting and test automation tools.

• Ability to generate test metrics for assigned project(s).

• Demonstrated mastery of the testing process, including test plan design and Ontario Systems’ ODF.

• Proven capability in implementing test plans.

• Advanced understanding of processes utilized in Technology.

• Advanced knowledge of finance and credit industry concepts.

• An advanced comprehension of one or more products and several product functions, including their interdependencies.

• Certification as a CSQA from the Quality Assurance Institute is preferred.
