Senior QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain testing strategies, plans, and cases for backend services and distributed systems.

• Take ownership of quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, test design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Create and execute functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end tests for backend services and business workflows.

• Develop and uphold automated testing frameworks and scripts for RESTful APIs and backend services.

• Construct test scenarios for high-concurrency and distributed systems, prioritizing data consistency, reliability, fault tolerance, idempotency, and high availability.

• Evaluate and validate APIs, database models, message-driven workflows, and system integrations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pinpoint quality risks and deliver superior solutions.

• Conduct code and technical design reviews with a focus on quality; contribute to testing standards and QA best practices.

• Oversee production systems, troubleshoot incidents, replicate defects, and identify quality, performance, and reliability risks.

• Enhance testing efficiency through test automation, CI/CD integration, test coverage, observability, and quality processes.

• Lead or contribute to AI engineering capabilities, tools, and infrastructure.

• Stay updated with testing technologies and share knowledge and best practices in testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 5+ years of experience in QA or software testing, with a strong emphasis on backend and API testing.

• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, test design, defect management, and best practices in software engineering.

• Extensive experience with API testing, including RESTful APIs, request/response validation, authentication, authorization, error handling, and boundary conditions.

• Practical experience with test automation frameworks and proficiency in Java, Python, or comparable scripting/programming languages.

• Understanding of distributed systems and testing concepts such as scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, idempotency, concurrency, data consistency, and high availability.

• Experience in testing microservices architectures and asynchronous systems.

• Familiarity with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including SQL-based data validation and data integrity testing.

• Experience with Redis.

• Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or RocketMQ, along with asynchronous, event-driven workflows.

• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.

• Experience with JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or similar performance and load testing tools.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.

• Basic proficiency in reading and writing English.

• Preferred: Experience in Web3, digital wallets, digital asset custody, cryptocurrency exchanges, payments, or financial transaction systems.

• Preferred: Understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including public/private key cryptography, wallet architecture, blockchain transactions, and digital assets.

• Preferred: Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure, blockchain nodes, smart contracts, Web3 technologies, or crypto-related products.

• Preferred: Experience with high-throughput, low-latency backend systems.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.

• Preferred: Experience in security testing, financial transaction testing, data consistency, and transaction integrity.

• Experience in AI for test automation, test case generation, defect analysis, or engineering productivity is a plus.
