Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable automated testing frameworks and tools.

• Strategize and implement thorough testing methodologies across applications, APIs, and infrastructure.

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to guarantee high-quality releases.

• Establish, monitor, and evaluate quality metrics to enhance systems and processes continuously.

• Promote best practices in test automation, CI/CD, and quality engineering.

• Conduct exploratory and risk-based testing to identify edge cases and enhance resilience.

• Aid in documenting business rules, systems, and testing approaches.

• Support development teams in bug investigation, including reporting, reproduction, and isolation.

• Engage actively in the Agile software development process within a cross-functional team.

• Provide support and mentorship to team members, fostering the growth of quality engineering as a discipline.

• Report directly to the Technology Manager.

• Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems that support the courier network at Just Eat Takeaway.com.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.

• Proficient in automated testing utilizing JavaScript and/or Java is essential.

• Practical experience with tools such as Playwright, Appium, or comparable frameworks is required.

• Prior experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems is preferred.

• Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines and experience with Kubernetes-based deployment platforms.

• Extensive experience with event-driven architectures, including Apache Kafka, pub/sub systems, and asynchronous processing patterns.

• Experience in testing RESTful APIs utilizing tools such as RestAssured.

• Familiarity with load and performance testing tools (e.g., K6) is an advantage.

• Solid knowledge of test automation design patterns and best practices.

• Experience working in Agile, fast-paced, continuous delivery environments.

• Proficient in using Git-based version control systems.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Familiarity with SQL and non-SQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) is mandatory.

• Knowledge of Google BigQuery is advantageous.

• Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar is required.

• Experience in integrating AI into testing workflows.

• Understanding of prompt engineering and evaluating AI-generated outputs within a software engineering context.

• Awareness of best practices for AI-driven testing, focusing on reliability, reproducibility, and governance.

• Must provide consent for disclosing personal information for a background check.
