Senior QA Automation Engineer, JavaScript/TypeScript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Deliver thorough QA assistance throughout the entire application lifecycle in a dynamic deployment setting.

• Conduct functional, UI, regression, and end-to-end testing for web applications and newly launched features.

• Validate transactional processes and payment integrations, with a particular emphasis on e-commerce and payment-related workflows.

• Test and verify Point of Sale (POS) integrations, data synchronization, and operational processes.

• Work closely with Data Engineering teams to facilitate data validation, backend verification, and ETL-related testing activities.

• Design, sustain, and enhance automated test suites utilizing Selenium and either JavaScript or TypeScript.

• Execute API testing, database validation, and troubleshooting for data-centric workflows.

• Engage in release validation tasks, proactively identifying risks, obstacles, and quality issues.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives regarding QA processes, automation coverage, and deployment reliability.

• Function effectively in lean, highly collaborative Agile/Kanban settings.

• Assist in testing operations for web applications, transactional systems, and data-driven workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Software QA and test automation.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Selenium and either JavaScript or TypeScript for web automation testing.

• Proficient in performing functional, regression, UI, and end-to-end testing on contemporary web applications.

• Practical experience in testing e-commerce platforms, payment workflows, and third-party integrations.

• Familiarity with testing payment gateways or transactional workflows.

• Strong knowledge of API testing, backend validation, and database verification processes.

• Experience collaborating closely with engineering and data teams in Agile or Kanban frameworks.

• Ability to swiftly adapt to changing priorities and rapid operational demands.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Proficient in English communication skills, both written and spoken.

• Experience testing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) implementations or similar enterprise CMS platforms (desirable).

• Familiarity with validating ETL pipelines, backend data flows, or data integrity processes (desirable).

• Knowledge of Cypress or Playwright (desirable).

• Previous experience in startup environments or agile, high-growth teams (desirable).

• Experience collaborating with Data Engineering teams and supporting data-centric validation efforts (desirable).

• Knowledge of working with POS systems or retail/hospitality transactional platforms (desirable).

• Strong sense of ownership with the ability to work independently and proactively (desirable).

• Experience contributing to QA process enhancements and automation strategy discussions (desirable).
