Senior Software Development Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Establish and enhance testing strategies, frameworks, automation, and environments for software agents operating on Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms.

• Create automated tests that consistently assess functionality, reliability, performance, and quality over prolonged periods.

• Develop and sustain automated testing infrastructure for virtual machines, containers, and cloud environments.

• Formulate testing methodologies for agents that gather workload and network data, enforce network policies, safeguard containerized environments, and ensure runtime security.

• Embed automated testing within the software development and product delivery lifecycle.

• Evaluate test outcomes, detect software defects and reliability challenges, and work collaboratively with engineering teams to troubleshoot and rectify issues.

• Partner with software engineers and cross-functional teams from product ideation through to production rollout.

• Define, design, and create testing capabilities that continually assess and enhance the quality of software agents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline with over 5 years of pertinent experience, or a Master’s degree with more than 3 years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience testing intricate software products or systems.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes.

• Experience in developing or implementing automated software testing.

• Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and deploying software products into production.

• Preferred: expertise in designing and developing sophisticated software testing frameworks, strategies, or infrastructure.

• Preferred: familiarity with OpenShift and Rancher.

• Preferred: experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure automation technologies.

• Preferred: background in testing software across virtual machines, containers, cloud, or distributed systems.

• Preferred: understanding of runtime security concepts.

• Preferred: knowledge of host-based firewall principles.

• Preferred: programming experience in Golang.

• Preferred: experience with continuous testing, long-duration reliability testing, or automated performance testing.

• Preferred: background in agile development environments and close cooperation with software engineering teams.
