Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Construct and oversee a comprehensive automation framework for the investor portal and administrative panel.

• Suggest a browser automation framework tailored to platform requirements.

• Create API and contract tests, including checks for backwards compatibility with existing mobile app versions.

• Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines while ensuring the suite remains stable, dependable, and maintainable.

• Introduce stable test identifiers to the React frontend via reviewed pull requests.

• Conduct exploratory testing on various web applications.

• Execute manual regression testing on both iOS and Android platforms.

• Establish test strategies, regression checklists, bug-reporting standards, and release-readiness assessments.

• Collaborate closely with client developers and an external mobile development partner.

• Utilize approved AI-assisted tools and contribute to QA workflows for test generation and failure analysis.

• Primarily focus on web and API automation, with manual mobile and exploratory testing representing roughly one-third of the responsibilities.

• Assume ownership of QA practices throughout the delivery process as an independent contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA automation.

• At least 3 years managing a browser-based end-to-end suite from initial implementation to consistent CI utilization.

• Proficient hands-on experience with a contemporary browser automation framework such as Playwright or Cypress.

• Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript.

• Sufficient Python knowledge to navigate a Django codebase and comprehend API behavior.

• Experience in API testing, OpenAPI schemas, and backwards compatibility assessments.

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines; Jenkins experience is advantageous.

• Hands-on experience in manually testing native applications on actual iOS and Android devices.

• Strong exploratory testing capabilities and the ability to document clear, reproducible bugs.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development or testing tools, along with the ability to critically evaluate generated tests.

• Proactive mindset, strong sense of ownership, and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.

• High proficiency in both written and spoken English.

• Bonus: experience in fintech, financial services, KYC/AML, or investment platforms.

• Bonus: familiarity with React and frontend test instrumentation.

• Bonus: experience with consumer-driven contract testing.

• Bonus: mobile automation experience using Appium, Detox, Maestro, or similar tools.
