Senior Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain backend services and REST APIs utilizing Python.

• Construct scalable solutions for the ingestion, processing, and transformation of large datasets.

• Engage with Microsoft Azure, encompassing containerized workloads, batch processing, PostgreSQL, and event-driven architectures.

• Contribute to cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Collaborate with Databricks and contemporary data processing methodologies.

• Partner with engineers for system design, data modeling, and platform enhancements.

• Enhance software quality via code reviews, automated testing, and mentoring junior developers.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity, expedite problem-solving, and support coding, testing, and technical analysis.

• Develop and refine a proprietary data platform that detects vulnerabilities and actively mitigates cyber risk.

• Create and enhance scalable backend services, high-performance APIs, and event-driven data processing for a cybersecurity risk platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in Python development, with a significant emphasis on backend engineering.

• Extensive experience in building backend applications and REST APIs.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

• Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in developing data-intensive applications, data pipelines, or solutions for processing large datasets.

• Deep understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and clean code principles.

• Familiarity with Databricks or other modern data platforms.

• Understanding of event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Container Apps or Batch Processing.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, e.g., Terraform.

• Experience with Azure DevOps and deployment automation.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development tools.
