Senior Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs utilizing Python.

• Create scalable solutions for the ingestion, processing, and transformation of large datasets.

• Utilize Microsoft Azure, focusing on containerized workloads, batch processing, PostgreSQL, and event-driven architectures.

• Contribute to cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Work with Databricks and implement modern data processing methodologies.

• Collaborate with engineers on system design, data modeling, and platform enhancements.

• Enhance software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and mentoring junior developers.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity, expedite problem-solving, and support coding, testing, and technical analysis.

• Develop and advance a proprietary data platform that identifies vulnerabilities and proactively mitigates cyber risk for a leading UK-based insurance firm.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of commercial experience in Python development, with a strong emphasis on backend engineering.

• Significant experience in building backend applications and REST APIs.

• Solid understanding of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

• Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in developing data-intensive applications, data pipelines, or solutions that handle large datasets.

• Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, testing, and principles of clean code.

• Familiarity with Databricks or other contemporary data platforms.

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Container Apps or Batch Processing.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.

• Proficient in Azure DevOps and automation of deployment processes.

• Practical experience utilizing AI-assisted software development tools.
