This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee Dimensional’s enterprise investment data warehouse that supports Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, and Analytics functions.
• Create, develop, document, and test application services for scalable data platforms and services.
• Enhance and optimize data architecture and data pipeline.
• Construct and deliver investment data technology solutions for Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, Analytics, and Reporting.
• Conceptualize, design, develop, test, and implement data technology solutions while balancing speed and quality.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and project managers on user stories, estimates, and work plans.
• Provide guidance to business clients and IT management on technology capabilities and propose strategies.
• Design and implement modifications across data ingestion, validation, quality control, integration, storage, management, and delivery.
• Create unit and integration tests, contribute to the engineering wiki, and generate comprehensive documentation.
• Develop high-performance, scalable data transfer toolsets that reliably transfer datasets within established SLAs.
• Oversee data consistency, refresh rates, and caching requirements across various interfaces.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and engage in code and design reviews.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and production support.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4–5 years of programming experience in Python (open source) or a comparable language.
• Expertise in building RESTful APIs and web services.
• 4–5 years of experience with SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to apply SOLID principles and Domain Driven Design.
• Experience with high-performance and high-availability data applications, which includes performance optimization and tuning.
• Familiarity with automated acceptance testing and capability to write unit-tested, maintainable code.
• Strong comprehension of cybersecurity risks and the ability to design and develop highly secure applications.
• Experience in a dynamic and interactive team environment.
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in a service that is always up and available.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and waterfall methodologies with a focus on software development and integration.
• Proficiency in NoSQL database implementation and optimization.
• Capability to work across multiple programming languages and platforms.
• Experience or knowledge in the financial services industry.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Airflow, PostgreSQL, Ansible, Elastic Stack, RabbitMQ, Redis, Docker, Okta, OAuth2, and PlainID.
