Senior Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain the Django backend that supports the consumer dashboard and B2B platform.

• Create APIs for both the consumer dashboard and customer reporting functionalities.

• Enhance the performance and reliability of Celery and RabbitMQ pipelines.

• Integrate external services, including payment and identity providers like Stripe and WorkOS SSO.

• Conduct light frontend development using HTMX and occasionally React components.

• Take ownership of features from initial development through to post-production support.

• Engage in code reviews, providing and receiving feedback.

• Collaborate directly with the founders on product strategy and technical direction.

• Begin contributing to real work within the first week.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in developing production web applications.

• More than 3 years of experience with Python and Django.

• Hands-on experience with Celery, RabbitMQ, and Redis in a production environment.

• Proficient understanding of data structures, concurrency, SQL, and system design.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Ability to work asynchronously across different time zones.

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of follow-through.

• Familiarity with DRF and/or django-ninja.

• Experience in Postgres tuning and query optimization.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS.

• Experience with Stripe, WorkOS SSO, or other third-party API integrations.

• Proficiency in HTMX, React, or both.

• Background in consumer privacy or related sectors.

• Experience utilizing AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code).
