Senior Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the transition to a new platform by dismantling outdated Java Spring Boot microservices and converting them into a contemporary Django-based Python API with a React frontend architecture.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable and robust RESTful APIs in Python (Django/DRF) to bolster essential product functionalities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transfer service logic, maintain data accuracy, and reduce system downtime throughout the migration process.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for both backend (Python) and frontend (React) services.

• Engage in architectural discussions, code evaluations, and technical decision-making to enhance platform performance and improve the developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional backend development experience in Python, showcasing expertise in Django or Django REST Framework (DRF).

• Strong practical experience in creating dynamic and responsive user interfaces using React.

• Established background in API integration, microservice communication, and refactoring or re-platforming legacy codebases.

• Proficient in relational databases (such as PostgreSQL or MySQL), SQL query optimization, and modern DevOps/CI/CD pipelines.

• 1-2 years of professional experience with Java and Spring Boot, enabling the ability to read, understand, and interpret legacy service logic (considered a plus).

• Familiarity with distributed systems, message brokers (such as RabbitMQ or Kafka), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) (considered a plus).
