Senior Python, Django Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Develop code in the Django backend that supports the consumer dashboard and B2B platform.

• Create new functionalities for APIs that drive the consumer dashboard and customer reporting.

• Enhance the performance and reliability of Celery and RabbitMQ pipelines.

• Integrate external services, such as payment systems and identity providers, including Stripe and WorkOS SSO.

• Conduct code reviews and engage in evaluations within a small backend team.

• Take ownership of features from inception to completion, including ensuring production reliability post-release.

• Collaborate directly with founders on both product and technical strategies.

• Engage in meaningful work from the very first week.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in developing production web applications.

• 3+ years of expertise with Python and Django.

• Practical experience with Celery, RabbitMQ, and Redis.

• Familiarity with data structures, concurrency, SQL, and system architecture.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently across various time zones.

• Self-motivated and capable of following through on tasks.

• Strong plus: Experience with DRF and/or django-ninja.

• Strong plus: Knowledge of Postgres tuning and query optimization.

• Strong plus: Familiarity with Kubernetes and AWS.

• Strong plus: Experience with Stripe, WorkOS SSO, or other third-party API integrations.

• Strong plus: Proficiency in HTMX, React, or both.

• Strong plus: Background in consumer privacy or related sectors.

• Strong plus: Experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code).
