Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer, Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

• Manage comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize tools and tailored workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task accomplishment.

• Reliably extract data from dynamic and interactive web sources, including content rendered by JavaScript.

• Adjust scraping techniques in response to evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, consistency controls across sources, formatting standards, and systematic verification.

• Enhance scraping operations for substantial datasets using effective batching or parallel processing.

• Monitor failures and ensure stability against minor modifications in site structure.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar tools, dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scrolling), and APIs via proxies.

• Demonstrated capability to extract data from intricate structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Proven experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures on a large scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or similar, and containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or analogous applications for automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English at an Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• A link to a GitHub profile is a plus.
