Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Ensure thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Leverage available tools and customized workflows to enhance data collection, validation, and execution of tasks.

• Extract data consistently from dynamic and interactive online sources, adapting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting standards, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets utilizing efficient batching or parallelization techniques.

• Monitor failures and ensure stability against minor changes in site structure.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies in conjunction with technical expertise and tailored approaches.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• A robust technical foundation and practical experience with scripting, automation, and data extraction workflows.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools such as BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.

• Capability to extract data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in formats like CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Proven experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) within real workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar, applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher.
