Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

• Manage comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize tools and tailored workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task execution while adhering to established requirements.

• Guarantee reliable extraction from dynamic and interactive web platforms, modifying techniques for JavaScript-rendered content and fluctuating site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing efficient batching or parallelization techniques.

• Monitor for failures and sustain stability against minor alterations in site structure.

• Leverage expertise in web scraping, data extraction, and data processing for specialized Tendem project workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (using BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar), including dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs through proxies.

• Proven track record in extracting data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures on a large scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of operational workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.
