Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Manage comprehensive data extraction processes from intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize existing tools and tailored workflows to enhance data gathering, validation, and task execution while adhering to established requirements.

• Guarantee consistent extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, modifying methods for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Implement data quality standards through validation checks, consistency controls across sources, formatting specifications, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing efficient batching or parallelization techniques.

• Track failures and maintain stability in response to minor changes in site structure.

• Execute data scraping tasks for the Tendem project utilizing Apify, OpenRouter, and other relevant technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (required).

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (using BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar), particularly with dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs through proxies.

• Proven capability in extracting data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in formats such as CSV, JSON, and Google Sheets.

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) within practical workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar applied to automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required).

• A link to GitHub is a plus.
